"Pole Stars" Tallent Showcase Malaysia 2010

What is the first thing that comes into your mind when you hear about pole dancing? Some sexy hot chick dancing around a pole? It's more than just that. It's actually an elegant and acrobatic dance sport. It it is also done by men! Yes, even men!


Last Wednesday, thanks to Nuffnang, I attended the media launch of a pole dancing competition organised by Viva Vertical at Winter Bar, Quattro.


"Pole Stars" Talent Showcase 2010 is one of the first online reality and fan based dance sport competition. The competition have been hosted for the fourth consecutive year and it is participated by both male and female.


During the media launch, we were demonstrated how actual pole dance would be in real life. Pole dance is isn't as simple as merely a dance, some level of acrobatics are required as seen above and below.

If I were to do this, I'd probably break either my hands or neck. Fantastic stuff!

Some of the guest are invited to try some of the acrobatics of pole dancing.

I was quite surprised to meet one of my university junior at this event. Gregory seemed to enjoy being taught some pole dancing tricks by a female pole instructor.

He did it, effortlessly obviously hehe

24 semi-finalist will be chosen and will be competing in 3 different categories at 3 stages before the finals on the 22nd of May 2010. The champion will represent Malaysia at the International PDF Championship in Tokyo, Japan.
